John Stones, Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips are all still absent through injury and will miss the trip to Anfield.

"John I think will be back I don't know when but maybe one week, ten days. Kalvin is getting better and is improving a lot. Kyle is still out," Guardiola confirmed at Friday's press conference.

City had a wretched record at Anfield, but have improved in recent years with a win and a draw on their past two visits, and Guardiola believes his team have shown "huge personality" on Merseyside.

"I have the feeling that always in Anfield we behave really well," he said.

"You have to behave at the top level, especially without the ball and be active for second balls.

"But in Anfield, if we are winning or losing always we play with huge personality when we go there."

City drew their last game at Anfield 2-2, with Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne netting for the Blues. Overall City have won 50 of the 192 games played against the Reds, with 50 draws and 92 defeats.
