Leroy Sane and Benjmain Mendy miss out through injury, but Fernandinho is available again after missing the win at West Ham last weekend. With virtually a fully fit squad to choose from, Pep Guardiola warned at Friday's press conference that sometimes players will have to miss out:

He said: “That is going to happen every game. We can start to ask if everyone is fit.

“Everybody deserves to play because the quality of the team is really good.

“We can talk about the line-ups, but we have to think about what is best for the team and how to beat our opponent.”

Spurs are missing Dele Alli, Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon through injury, whilst Son Heung-min is suspended, but Guardiola is expecting another difficult clash against Mauricio Pochettino's side:

“We learnt how good they are on many occasions,” said Pep. “They’re the second-best team in Europe.

“Since I came here to England they’ve been a real contender every season. The first season they finished second… they’ve always been there or thereabouts.”

City's beat Spurs 1-0 at The Etihad in the corresponding fixture last season, with Phil Foden scoring the only goal of the game. Overall City have won 63 of the 159 games played against Tottenham, with 35 draws and 61 defeats.

Predicted line-up: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko, Rodri, D Silva, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Sterling, Jesus

Score prediction: City 2 Spurs 1
