City to face Newcastle in FA Cup quarter-final

Holders travel to St James Park in last eight after beating Sheffield Wednesday

Manchester City will travel to Newcastle United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, following the draw on Wednesday evening.

The defending champions defeated Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough, thanks to a Sergio Aguero goal, to book their place in the last eight.

Newcastle, meanwhile, beat Championship leaders West Brom 3-2 on Tuesday evening to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2006.

The game will be played on the weekend of 21 and 22 March. The draw means that Newcastle's April 18 trip to Manchester City in the Premier League will also be rescheduled, as it clashes with the semi-finals.
